Terrazzo is a tough surface that is suitable for industrial commercial applications. Typically Terrazzo flooring is specified in areas where ceramics and other alternatives would not be durable enough, such as factories, schools, hospitals, shopping malls etc.
Terrazzo is a mixture of cement and Marble/Granite chips and colour pigment. The end product is pressed, cured and polished to create a strong durable surface suitable for heavy duty workloads and strains.
Terrazzo tiles:
Terrazzo tiles overcome most os the disadvantages of in-situ Terrazzo, by using factory controlled conditions to regulate colour, thickness, crushing strength and consistency. Traditional in-situ Terrazzo was laid on site, with the major disadvantage of speed and difficulty in controlling the colour and consistency of flooring.
